The Room

An evening people
talk about after.

Chef Sean Brock built Darling around two things: a fire in the kitchen and a wall of records in the lounge. Both of them belong to your party for the night.

01

A kitchen built on fire.

Heritage Southern cooking touched by California, cooked over live flame. Menus are written for your table: family-style feasts, plated courses, or passed bites at the bar.

02

Sound as the centerpiece.

Seven custom speakers, Tannoy monitors, an Accuphase amplifier, and a selector behind the decks. Set the mood of the room record by record, from dinner-hour soul to something the floor can move to.

03

A room that photographs.

Mural walls, mustard velvet booths, paper lanterns, and an olive tree under a skylight. Intimate at eight, cinematic at eighty.

The Private Dining Room

Behind the
velvet curtain.

Draw the curtain and the room is yours. A long table under vaulted timber ribs, a wall of split oak stacked to the ceiling, and a lit pantry of preserves and spices along the back. The fire that cooks your dinner is stacked in the room you eat it in.

Partial Buyout

The private dining room, behind its own velvet curtain, for a seated dinner under vaulted timber ribs and a wall of split oak. The right size for board dinners, client entertaining, rehearsal dinners, and birthdays.

Up to 45 guests · seated dinners
From $4,000

Included With A Full Buyout

A room built
for listening.

Alongside the dining room, under a retractable canopy, sits Darling's analog soul. A full buyout takes the lounge and the bar with it, which is why the room books for listening sessions, label nights and launches as readily as it does for dinner.

Seven custom speakers
Built for this room by DJ and speaker artisan MAXV.
Tannoy Super Gold Monitors
The pair set into the listening wall, horn-loaded and gold-faced.
Accuphase amplification
Driving the room with the headroom to stay clean at volume.
Swiss rotary mixer, Japanese cartridges
All-vinyl through the front end, with nothing digital in the path.

The result is the warmth and clarity audiophiles cross town for, in a room where dinner is served at the same time.

Questions

Before you ask.

What kinds of events does Darling host?

Corporate dinners and off-sites, client entertaining, wrap parties and premieres, birthdays and milestones, rehearsal dinners, holiday parties, and full buyouts. If it belongs around a table or a record player, it belongs here.

Which days are available?

Any night of the week. Regular service is dinner Wednesday through Saturday and brunch on Sunday, so Monday and Tuesday events take the room as a buyout. Daytime events can be arranged by request.

Is there a food and beverage minimum?

Yes. A partial buyout of the dining room starts at $4,000 and a full restaurant buyout starts at $15,000. Minimums are food and beverage spend, and tax, 20% gratuity, and a 5% administrative fee sit on top.

What does it cost per guest?

The family style menu is $125 per person. Tray pass service, available on full buyouts, is $75 per person for eight savory items and two desserts, with additional items at $9 each. A few premium items such as sea urchin, abalone, and wagyu carry a $23 per person supplement.

How do we hold our date?

Your event is confirmed once we have a deposit. If plans change, we refund it in full up to seven days before your event date.

Can we choose the music?

Yes. Every event comes with a selector behind the decks and an all-vinyl library to pull from. Tell us the mood you want and we will build the night around it, or bring your own records and we will play them.

Can you work around dietary restrictions?

Yes. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergy accommodations are built into the menu during planning. Send the details with your inquiry and the kitchen will handle the rest.

How far ahead should we book?

The sooner the better for December and awards season, which fill first. For everything else, a few weeks is usually enough. Send the inquiry even if your date is close, and we will tell you honestly what is possible.
