Private event terms

  1. Your date is confirmed once the deposit is paid: $1,000 for the Spice Room or $5,000 for a full buyout. The deposit counts toward your final bill.
  2. Wednesday to Saturday full buyouts booked within Resy's booking window are requests: your card is authorized and charged only once Darling confirms, within 24 hours. If Darling cannot confirm, the authorization is released.
  3. You can change your headcount and menu on your booking page until 10am, 4 days before the event (7 days before if you pay by bank account).
  4. The final bill is your food and beverage as served, at least the agreed minimum, plus a 20% gratuity, a 5% administrative fee (not a gratuity) and sales tax. Extra venue hours beyond the first four are $1,500 each.
  5. At 10am, 4 days before the event (7 days before for a bank account, so it clears in time), your headcount and menu lock, your price is set, and the balance (the price less your deposit) is charged to the card or bank account you paid with. Without a saved payment method, we email a payment link, due before the event.
  6. On the day of the event, a hold of 20% of the price (up to $3,000) is placed on your saved card for anything added on the night (no hold for a bank account). It is a hold, not a charge, and it is released once the bill is settled.
  7. Nothing is paid at the table. The price set when your menu locks is the minimum for the evening. The morning after, anything added on the night is charged (first from the hold) and you get an email with the final total.
  8. Cancellation: 7 or more days before the event, everything paid is refunded. 3 to 6 days before, half the deposit is kept. Under 3 days, the deposit is kept. Anything paid beyond the deposit is always refunded. Refunds appear on your statement within 5 to 10 business days.
  9. Need another date? Ask 7 or more days before the event and we move your booking, deposit included, once at no cost, to any open date.
  10. If Darling has to cancel, everything you paid is refunded in full.
